Procedure
Solid surface door (no glass)
- With gloves on take a clean damp blue cloth
- Spray disinfectant onto the blue cloth
- Wipe over the front, back and side surface of the door, removing any grime or marks paying attention to the door jams
- Take caution to avoid door jambs and fingers getting caught in the door
- Wipe over the door handle
- To prevent strains from over stretching, use safety steps to reach hard to reach marks
Glass doors
Cracked or broken glass is potentially dangerous and a work place hazard. Before commencing to clean, assess the glass for any cracks. If unsafe, report to your manager, do not proceed to clean
- Taking a clean dry window cleaning cloth and window cleaner
- Spray small amount of window cleaner onto cloth
- Wipe the glass with cloth starting at the top of the glass area and working from side to side and going down ensuring all dirty marks and dust are removed
- To prevent strains from over stretching, use safety steps to reach hard to reach marks
- Shake the cloth to remove any debris
- Fold the cloth so a new clean surface is visible
- Using the clean surface of the cloth, quickly buff any smears or streak marks from the surface to maximise shine and to leave the glass shining
- Taking a damp blue cloth and disinfectant
- Wipe over the non-glass front, back and side surfaces of the door to remove any grime and finger marks
- To prevent strains from over stretching, use safety steps to reach hard to reach marks
